The steps below assume that you have a POP category/subcategory set up and approved for check scanning by your FI, that you have already installed the scanner, and that you have Check Verification Enabled (at the category/subcategory level). If you have not installed the scanner, please refer to the scanner installation document before beginning these instructions.
The procedure differs slightly if you have CAR/LAR enabled in Auto Scan and Save mode; refer to the second set of steps for this scenario. If CAR/LAR is not enabled or if you are using Manual Scan and Save mode, use the first set of steps.
Note: Batch scanning is not applicable for POP categories.
Choose Transactions | <category/subcategory>.
Select Scan | Begin Scanning Checks from the transaction list. When the application prompts you to scan the check, insert the check into the scanner.
When the check image appears, complete the transaction fields below the image.
Select Save & Scan Another Check (or press Enter) or Save & Return To List as appropriate. (To rescan a check, select Rescan Check.) Do NOT click the Save option again while the application is processing.
If the check image page displays again, check above the image for messages, correct/complete the necessary fields, and choose Save & Scan Another Check (or press Enter) or Save & Return To List as appropriate. For example, you may need to re-enter the driver's license/ID number for confirmation, or in the case of a declination, you may need to have a supervisor review the transaction and fill in the override fields to complete the transaction.
After the transaction is completed and saved, the scanner franks the check (if franking is enabled), and the receipt prints automatically. When you return to the list view, all transactions from your scanned checks will be displayed.
Choose Transactions | <category/subcategory>.
Select Scan | Begin Scanning Checks from the transaction list. When the application prompts you to scan the check, insert the check into the scanner. (Consult the hardware documentation that came with the scanner for the appropriate way to insert checks.)
If the image appears, verify the amount and complete the transaction fields below the image, as necessary. To halt the scan process temporarily, press the spacebar. When you are ready to proceed, press Enter. You may also rescan a check, if necessary, during this period. If the pause time is too long or short, you can modify it from the transaction list page.
If the check image page displays again, check above the image for messages, correct/complete the necessary fields, and choose Save & Continue (or press Enter).
After the last check has been scanned, the application asks for the next item. If no item is inserted, the application returns to the transaction list page. When you return to the list view, all transactions from your scanned checks will be displayed.
