Required information for a transaction includes the Routing and Transit (R/T), or ABA, Number of the receiving financial institution. Rather than forcing you to remember all the R/T numbers of FIs that you deal with, the application provides the DFI Number Reference, which allows you to set up an electronic "cheat sheet," or lookup book. You add frequently used R/T numbers and the corresponding name, city, and state to the Reference, and then these R/T numbers appear in a drop-down list wherever you need to enter this information. Using the DFI Number Reference also reduces the number of entry errors since users only have to choose from a list of existing records.
