The Image Quality Assurance (IQA) feature of the application enhances the check scanning process because it provides mandatory and optional quality tests for several aspects of the scanned image. IQA ensures that images captured by the application meet or exceed industry standards, including the Federal Reserve Banks Defect Detection Failure Points for check images.
With IQA activated, individual characteristics of the image are tested based on default thresholds configured by your financial institution for each category. The scanned image will then pass or fail depending on how it scores on those tests. The image will most likely be prevented from being saved if it fails a quality test. During the scanning process, you have the ability to view and print the "scorecard" of the image's test results by clicking the View Image Scorecard button. If the application reports that the image has failed the IQA tests, you may use the scorecard to obtain more information about why the image did not pass. You may also choose to continue (if applicable), rescan the check, or cancel the item and continue with the next item to be scanned.
